RC slab is a slab made of reinforced concrete material. It is a basic structure or component in buildings and various engineering structures. It is often used as roofs, floors, platforms, walls, retaining walls, foundations, floors, pavements, pools, etc., and has a wide range of applications. Reinforced concrete slab is a key component in the structure, and its cracking or failure will lead to a long-term decline in the strength and performance of the entire structure.


Why use CFRP for slab strengthening?

²  The average carrying capacity of RC slabs can be increased by about 40%.

²  The bending capacity of CFRP-strengthened two-way slabs increases by about 35.5%.

²  Strengthening RC slabs with CFRP can reduce deflection and crack width.

²  By adding more layers of CFRP within a certain limit, the strength of the RC board can be significantly improved without losing the qualified ductility. 

²  By increasing the number of CFRP layers, the stiffness of the linear part (elastic stage) of the CFRP-strengthened slab is increased by about 8 times.

²  CFRP sheets increases the ultimate load-bearing capacity more than CFRP strips. Therefore, using CFRP sheets can be more helpful in slab strengthening.
